Psychotherapist, Social Worker

Washington, DC

Like Snow White, I drifted from a "straight-laced" Catholic man until 1979 when I came out as a Gay, non-binary person. By 1982 I was released (excommunicated) from the Catholic Church after 10 years as a high school teacher and College Campus Minister. I affiliated with the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), earned a second Master's degree in Clinical Social Work and became a psychotherapist at a large, LGBTQ and HIV/AIDS Health Center in DC. I served on the staff there from 1986 to 2018 when I retired at the age of 70. My proudest achievement has been as a research subject (Lab rat) in the largest, longitudinal Study of HIV/AIDS in the United States for the last 36 years. Having recently survived a COVID-19 infection in March, 2020, I am now enrolling in a three year study of thar pandemic through the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at NIH in Bethesda, MD.
